How to use the mobile application SKPOS network solution quality monitoring

The procedure on how to use the application is very simple and consists of follows steps:

1. The applications starts by typing in http://monitoringSKPOS.gku.sk into command line of your internet browser. You may use e.g. Mozilla Firefox 22 or other.

2. After starting application, you must first select the day for which you wish to get information on the quality of network solution SKPOS The date selection can be done from the calendar by clicking onto the window situated behind the text “Select date”. The second possibility is to insert the date directly into the mentioned window in dd.mm.yyyy format.

3. The next step of the procedure consists of the selection of the region for which you wish to get information about the quality of the network solution SKPOS. Site selection is done in two ways:

a.) on a topographic map by touching the place for which you want to display information about the quality of network solution,

b.) or when you want to identify your current location, click on the button "Current Position", and when prompted, allow sharing your location.

4. The screen displays a graphical representation of deviations. Deviations are presented in bar chart for each hour of the day, especially for the horizontal (plane ne) and vertical component (u). Furthermore, horizontal lines in the chart represent RMS (Root mean square) values for both components in centimeters.

5. To end viewing the deviation graphic you have to click on the Close button.

Attention

All information resulted from the application SKPOS network solution quality monitoring are informed only and do not have legal purpose. If the deviation graphics does not display some values for all selected hours, it does not mean that the SKPOS was not running, but it points to the problem with the baseline processing within the application. We also have to note, that if some deviations reach disproportionately high values (decimeters), it points as well to the problem with the processing within application. From that point of view, the application serves as an independent and permanent tool for provision of information about the quality of SKPOS network solution at any time and any region in Slovakia.

FAQ

What is Quality monitoring of SKPOS network solution?

Quality monitoring of SKPOS network solution is an application created by the Geodetic and Cartographic Institute Bratislava, which serves primarily to independent and permanent monitoring quality of the network solution SKPOS in any time and in any location of Slovakia. More information about the application you can read in the tab „About application“ located in the main menu.

For the day and hour of my measurement the value in the graph of deviations is omitted. Does it means, that SKPOS did not work, or network solution was no correct?

In case, you miss values for the selected date and location in the graph of deviations, it does not mean that SKPOS in that value did not work. It means in that moment, might have been an unknown problem with processing of baselines, or to another problem with the application’s operation. Missing values in graphics in any case does not mean that SKPOS failure, or accuracy of network solution is not correct.

The monitoring results are binding?

The results presented by application Quality monitoring of SKPOS network solution has only informational character.

I can not choose area – location defined by a foreign permanent station.

Yes that is true, the area defined by foreign permanent stations are no active, but data from these stations are part of the network solution SKPOS VRS station.
